Just in time for Valentine's Day - passionfruit bats in love!
Passionfruit bats are extremely romantic creatures. Their courtship rituals overflow with chivalrous gentleman bats wooing swooning ladies with offerings of such delicacies as chocolate-dipped fruit flies. But oh no! The bat pictured here is down to his last fruit fly... what other amorous gestures might he have in his repertoire?
While passionfruit bats are intensely passionate, the most romantic of all fruit bats was “Casabanova”. The famous casaba melon bat was said to be overwhelmingly sweet but, in fact, the tales of his many exploits are too juicy to recount here.
