An 8-month art-making hiatus is nasty - almost as nasty as a "neko-mata", which is a ghostly, fire-wielding, dream-invading anthropomorphic cat from Japanese mythology.
This is for the RARE: 2012 Anthro animal calendar ( [link] ), which features artwork by 13 different artists, depicting mythological animals like the unicorn, griffin and dragon & more unusual critters.
Done in acrylics; about 42 x 33cm (a bit over A3 in size). I painted this much faster than normal, probably since it's much smaller than my usual canvas size – it was a pleasant change to see something coming together so fast!!
