The koalaroo was pleased... very pleased, if you wanted to be specific. She had just successfully trialed a new invention, the De-Evap Brain Thing that, when worn, prevented the wearer's neocortex from evaporating in the heat of the day. With this remarkable patent-pending device, the koalaroo was adamant that she would escape the crippling silliness syndrome that so plagued her species and affected every single member of her family (except her, or course). Now rid of the debilitating horror, she was free to get on with her life, and enjoy the pleasures her eucalypt forest home had to offer, such as regular lyrebird concerts.
Acrylic on illustration board, 30.5 x 45 cm.
This was painted for a Bifrost bifrostfantasy.com project, and despite posting it today, I finished it ages ago. I have been serenaded by lyrebirds several times while bushwalking, which is always a treat!
Ooooh! I just love this! The creature is so cute and the b-ground is amaizing!

The koalaroo is adorable. This might sound random but I totally love the way you painted the big tree right behind the koalaroo. Something about the colors and textures catch my eye. Wonderful painting
The background and its blue tones look amazing - it is so atmospheric! I absolutely love the way you integrate fantasy creatures into such realistic environments and make the most inventive creations convincing! Wonderful work!
