I drew this monster in my sketchpad and felt a hankering to quickly paint it on a scrap piece of board. It's acrylic and quite small, only 22 x 15 cm. I've been told the design of this critter looks like it could have escaped from Star Wars, which I take as a compliment because the creature design in those films was very cool. I felt like painting a brown picture too.
Regarding the title: Arg-E Bam in Iran is the largest adobe citadel in the world, and after 2,000 years, was tragically almost completely destroyed by an earthquake in 2003.
When I read the title it reminded me of "city of the damned" hehe I have a weird mind. Anywho I like the sky in the background Its very funky. The creatures face is cute ^_^. *weird mind again*
Thanks Squishy- I mainly just wanted to paint the background, that was the first thing I painted, and I just plodded along through the monster and foreground, not really enjoying it. But I did like painting the sky!
this thing reminds me of The Dark Crystal. loverly job as allways donna.

You crazy person! You say you painted it quickly? How long did it take you?
Something half as big as this would probably take me weeks to complete. And this looks beautiful. You must spend oodles of money on paints, do you prefer acrylics over oils?
Ooh! Have you ever seen The Dark Crystal? Your creature reminds me of one of the critters from that movie!
This is a particularly odd creature you've created! Its proportions are so strange and its appearance a bit frightening but as per your usual it has a certain lovable quality to it. If I ever travel to see that place you can bet I'll be looking around for this creature!
Speaking of the backdrop, it's gorgeous as well. It's a bit too obscured by the creature to really comment on, but it does add some interest to the backdrop and contributes to the strange mood. I'm loving that yellow sky! The clouds give it a sense of vastness that really opens up the scene despite the fact that no rolling landscape is to be seen.
Great job once again, Donna! I always enjoy seeing your work!
